A: You can voluntarily register for VAT if you are making or intend to make taxable supplies. However, if your turnover exceeds £85,000 on a 12 month rolling basis, you must register for VAT by law. A: HMRC are implementing Making Tax Digital (MTD) from 1st April 2019. This is compulsory for all VAT-registered business with a taxable turnover over the VAT threshold of £85,000.
